Diverted Cement
Most freight traffic to and from Aberdeen was suspended in the aftermath of the Carmont derailment, when the main line to the south was closed for many months. The cement tanks did occasionally run, diverted via Inverness and the Highland Main Line. Despite several attempts to photograph these workings in the autumn of 2020, this was the only shot I got in sun. 70801 approached the site of Cairnie Junction, between Huntly and Keith, with 6Z67, the 13:02 Craiginches to Oxwellmains empty cement tanks, just before sunset on 8 October 2020.
