By 2013 class 612s had taken over virtually all services on the Nürnberg - Schwandorf line. 612.062 joined the Regensburg - Hof line at Irrenlohe, north of Schwandorf, while working RE3549, the 09:48 regional service from Nürnberg to Regensburg, on 24 April 2013.
