Line 80 Fredericia - Esbjerg
The Fredericia - Esbjerg main line crosses the Jutland peninsular from east to west around 80km north of the German border and is itself around 80km long. The westernmost 50km, from Lunderskov to Esbjerg is double track and diesel worked, although preliminary electrification work was underway when I visited in July 2014. Passenger services are worked by DMUs and freight traffic is normally sparse but my visit was timed to coincide with freight diversions from the electrified Padborg line.

Line 82 Bramming - Tønder
The Bramming - Tønder line is normally a quiet backwater linking the Esbjerg area of southern Denmark with the German border. For three weeks in July and August 2014 the line hosted heavy diesel hauled freights diverted from the Lunderskov - Padborg route further east. These pictures of diverted freights are therefore not typical of what can normally be seen on the line.
