Ubiquitous 742s
The ubiquitous class 742 diesels became the standard power for freight workings on many non-electrified lines in the Czech Republic in the middle of the first decade of the century. By 2005 most freight on the Plzen - Domazlice line was handled by pairs of 742s coupled cab to cab. Here, 742.243 led 742.206 on train Rn44308, the 16:47 from Plzen to Furth im Wald, just over the border in Germany.
