Putin's Revenge! The Russians must really hate the Czechs to lumber them with this monstrosity. The class 835 epitomises everything that's wrong with modern train design. It's noisy and uncomfortable, the ride quality is rougher than a 4-wheel railbus and the quality of interior finish is apalling. It seems to be fairly unreliable as well and was usually substituted by a class 830 or 850 railcar during my July 2005 visit. Fortunately it appears that Russia's plan to repay its debt to the Czech Republic with these things has fallen through.
