A visit to the depot at lunchtime on 4 March 2008 found SY 1047 in light steam, receiving a few final adjustments before returning to traffic. On the right, SY 1470 was undergoing a boiler washout. With the smokebox door wide open, the superheater tubes, blastpipe and one of the main steam pipes are clearly visible.
