There's an extensive deep mine system at Zhalainuo'er as well as the better known opencast pit but trains were relatively infrequent, often meaning a long wait for any action.SY.1448 was caught passing Shi'erjing, literally 12 Mine, with a rake of empties bound for one of the southern collieries on 3 March 2009.
