Tongchuan Mining Railway

Too Warm

At Qiaoziliang, the branch to Wangshiwa colliery diverges from the main line and climbs to the colliery on gradients of up to 1 in 33. JF 2368 approached the colliery with the day's only steam worked train of empties on 14 February 2004. In spite of being winter, it was too warm for a white exhaust and too warm for the bar of chocolate in my camera bag, which melted in the February heat. At least the sun was shining.
