Not The Last JS
Yamansu Iron Ore Railway's JS.8423 is the highest numbered JS but it wasn't the last built. The loco was built at Datong Works in 1987 for use as the works pilot and numbered JS.9999. It was later renumbered and sold to Yamansu, where it was photographed in the shed on 11 November 2005.
